This standard defines the quality system requirements based on AS9100 with additional criteria for maintenance repair and overhaul facilities (MRO's) serving the aircraft industry.
Formally titled "AS9110 Quality Maintenance Systems - Aerospace - Requirements for Maintenance Organizations," the standard was published January 2003 by SAE’s G-14 Americas Aerospace Quality Group (AAQG).
FAA 145 certified repair stations are prime candidates to seek certification under AS9110. Entities seeking Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA) from the FAA to manufacture aircraft parts and components would likely also seek AS9110 certification.
